Back it up, back it up,
Stop, fast-forward, rewind
And watch the sun, watch the moon taking turns in the same sky,
And you were dead as the leaves, now you're new like the spring-time.

My name is Ashley. I am a nursing student. I love my life. I love to express myself through pictures. I live in New Jersey and plan on moving with my fiance across the world.

2009-2010.

The year of 2009 was probably the most memorable year I have ever had. A lot happened that completely changed myself and others around me.

January-February 2009:

Erik and I started becoming serious. We agreed to start looking at apartments so we could finally start our lives together. I started working at Longhorn Steakhouse to make some extra money to pay off everything. I received an acceptance letter from nursing school to be able to go in and take a placement test to further prove my acceptance. Erik and I had a simple valentines day, I had to work with my new job and he surprised me with roses on my car early in the morning before work.

March-April 2009:

March 1st we moved into our new home. We barely had any money to afford new furniture so it was a struggle to even fill the apartment but it was OUR home and I adored it. I loved the sense of home I felt lying next to him every night and waking up to those handsome brown eyes. Not even a few nights into living in our new home we discovered our crazy neighbors. They lived below us and did nothing but drink, smoke, and party all night long. We started to not be able to get a full nights sleep and hated those around us in that apartment complex. We cooked dinner for each other when we could and I loved those memories. I especially loved the late night movie/tv ritual with popcorn cuddling on the couch we bought from target on clearance. I received my official acceptance letter into the LPN program I had been trying to get into for a year! We got a puppy who we named Frankie who became our love!

May-June 2009:

Erik turned twenty-two on May 10, 2009. Erik is one of those people that hates a big birthday bash so we spent time together and I made him cupcakes and sang him happy birthday. sErik’s belated birthday gift was skydiving in June! That was crazy. I have never felt so on top of the world! We both experienced the craze of being nervous, excited, scared, and beauty of the world. Soaring down the east coast was amazing. I turned nineteen on the 23rd of June. Erik took me into NYC and we ventured into the unknown. We visited the museum of bodies which I was looking forward to. I was really impressed! We had lunch by the harbor and got lost and tired of city life that day!

July-August 2009:

Orientation for the LPN program was held and we already had a quiz. The amount of homework assignments I received I knew I had gotten myself into something I probably cannot handle. July mostly consisted of working, spending long days at the beach with Erik and more working. August 26th was our one year together. We went to a Thai food restaurant and had the place to ourselves! It was romantic and super yummy! We found a new liking for spicy pad thai. The following day Erik proposed to me.  We had been looking at rings but I never expected for it to actually happen. We went to his parents house for his moms birthday and when we got home Erik asked me to take out Frankie. When I came back in he started kissing me and saying the most romantic things and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed and tears were in my eyes. I could not handle it! Of course I said yes! I cannot explain how happy I was to be able to say yes to my soul mate proposing to me.

September-December 2009:

A lot happened during these months but the highlights were starting nursing school, and moving out of our apartment that we started to hate and into my parents house where we now live.

What I hope to accomplish in 2010:

-Work on wedding plans, we have our reception and ceremony site, so now it’s the wedding dress, the photographer, the videographer, the dj, the food, the bridesmaid’s dresses, the colors, the centerpeices, the invites, the save the dates, ah I could go on forever!

-Save up as much money as possible so we can move out of my parents house and into a house of our own, NO MORE APARTMENTS.

-Erik and I are getting tattoos together.

-Get myself through nursing school. It’s so time consuming.

-Work on my attitude, work on being more neat and considerate of the person I love.

-Get my CNA license and start working in a long term care facility.

-Be able to pay for something for once!

-Focus.

-Love Erik with all of my heart.
